Michele's Search For Her Ghanian Father Gathers Pace

Diaspora (UK & Ireland) Michele's Search For Her Ghanian Father Gathers Pace
DEC 8, 2014 LISTEN

Earlier this year Michele Mensova renewed her difficult and emotional task of trying to trace her Ghanaian born father – Lawrence Osei Tutu whom she has never met or known as he suddenly disappeared from his girlfriend's home in Prague, Czech Republic 47 years ago (see attached original email for full details).

For the past four years Michele has amassed as much information as possible about her father – Lawrence after learning the truth about his disappearance including the fact that he was not aware that Michele's mother – Erika Dieterlenova was pregnant when he left. Erika had only known Lawrence for a short time before he left without and warning or forwarding message (for whatever reason).

With Lawrence (pictured at the bottom of this press release) completely unaware he has a daughter living in Prague he obviously has no idea that Michele is looking to trace him (as her father) after nearly five decades but Michele is determined to track down Lawrence however long it takes as she is convinced he is her father as when her elderly mother was shown his picture she recognised him immediately.

Obviously she has no idea if Lawrence is still alive and in fact if he returned and is still living in Ghana however what Michele has been able to discover is that Lawrence was born on the 22nd January 1937 in Kumasi and around 1965 before leaving Ghana to study in Prague he worked the Central Co-operative Counsel in Accra. Also at some point in his early life Lawrence also worked for Ramseyer House (Part of the Ramseyer Presbry Church and also Kumasi High School (KUHIS).

Michele is also aware that Lawrence has an established family in Ghana with at least a Son – Dr Lawrence Osei Tutu Jnr, a leading Paediatician in Ghana and a sister and although she has tried to make contact with his family direct through email, there has been no response to date. Michele really appreciates any apprehension her approach may be causing Lawrence's family in Ghana but can assure them that she has no wish or intention to impose herself on them in any way as she just wants to finally discover her true family roots in Ghana and nothing more (if that is Lawrence or his family's preferred wish.

Michele already has an extremely happy family life of her own in Prague with a husband and four children but would just like to finally discover the fate of her biological father for her own peace of mind.

As one professional journalist to another I have not written this in any form of press release as both Michele and I felt it would be best to give you the facts and let you decide what you feel would be appropriate to write for your readers. Perhaps if you were willing to publish an article in your own style including photos of both Michele and Lawrence Osei Tutu then maybe amongst your readers/listeners would be someone who recognised Desmond or his son and would be willing to contact us with some information that would lead us to find Michele's father.

I have also attached our initial press release to the Ghanaian media for background reference and Michele wrote to Dr Lawrence Osei Tutu Junior several months ago which, to date we have not received a reply from. We look forward to hearing from you with your thoughts on how you may be able to assist in this important and special quest for Michele which would be very much appreciated.

If you need any further information or perhaps would like to speak with Michele direct (which can be arranged) then please let me know. Thanking you in advance for your anticipated help and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards
