Pastors Should Add Unique Value Contribution To The Economy—Rev. Ghansah

The leader and founder of Gospel Ambassadors church (GAC)with over 30 branches nationwide Rev. Ebenezer Yamoah Ghansah has said is time Ghanaians religious leaders and for that matter pastors should eagerly involve in the ruling of the country saying this will help achieve the developmental goal of the country.

Rev. Ebenezer says the country cannot leave to its focus without the presence of the Holy Spirit moving through the leader of the country, hence involving pastors in the counseling and ruling of the economy will assist flourishing the country.

For sometimes now, the country, been suffering from series of economic and democratic challenges which according some intellectuals, social, economic and political analyst, there are a lot authorities should do to better and sustain the economy to its toes.

Some pastor, who come out expressing their concern as citizens of the country most often suffer political folds by either ruling or opposition parties. This act by some politicians and other individual'sparty members goes a long way preventing pastors and religious leader,coming out to share their thought on both economic and democratic issues happening in our mother Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with modern news, the founder and leader of the said church, Rev. Ebenezer Yamoah Ghansah said, there is no reason why pastors should not involve in the straighten of our economy or ruling of the country, but should be done in a unique way to add positive value to governance.

According to him, the religious leaders are already offering a substantive contribution to the governance of the country by delivering counseling, to all stakeholders of governance. He mentioned the Christian counsel of Ghana, Pentecostal council among other effective religious organizations,adding their valued contributions.

He said, pastors have very important contributions to make though but, looking at how our body politics is polarized, it doesn't help pastors to lease their quota very easily. Pastor normally fall on the foot of political supporters either opposition or ruling party, if they try sharing their concern on issues affecting the country. He added that, religious leaders can perform behind the scene by way of offering advices to the people involved in governance.

Adding to this he stated, that most pastors are well educated and knows well on governance, which he expressed believed that, they can give meaningful decision and advised to authorities, which will help transform the economy.

He said, one major problem the country is currently facing is that, party supporters do not see anything wrong with their partyleaders either good or bad so far as their party is concern. This according to him is diverting our democracy and putting the economy at stake.

He said,” it is better to correct a person you love most when he does wrong than to applaud his wrong doing, so if you love a party then, corrects its mistakes than to encourages that will lead him to destruction”.

He disagreed with the assertions that, Ghana is a Christian country. Explaining to this, he said, though there are lots of Christians in the Ghana but, the constitution does not recognize Christianity as the religion of the mother land Ghana. He added, the constitution actually makes no room for religious leader's involvement in the administration of the country. In spite of this he said, the religious associations make meaningful contributions behind the scene.

He however caution public who usually criticize pastors when the share their views on the ruling of the country. He said, some of the comments are what could help puts officials on their toes.

Rev. Ghanshah also, advices the government to weigh the substantive issues from pastors to apply in governance where necessary.
