One Child Per Parent Policy Based On Conditions In Ghana

Ii is very devastating witnessing the increase of street children on our streets due to lack of parental irresponsibility or care and other factors which does not account to bringing forth a child into this world of ours, called mother earth. In natural fact, NO child ever asked their parents to bring them to this world by birth or any other means if necessary.

Gone at the days where there were lesser education and some parents enrich themselves by giving birth to many children equivalent to the combination of a football and a hockey paying team with reserve players which they use for farming activity and call themselves names due to the success they derive from the forced labor of these innocent children. Presently, this modern world is been rule by education of high standard to setting the foundation of every human being and getting good education if expensive.

Obviously, it is said that higher education is the only inheritance parents can give or leave for their children. Unthinkably, some parents or couples are not wakening into this new world order in which we find ourselves and do that which they can afford rather than using assumptions and perspective at which they assume others or people think about them and gives birth to unwanted children which becomes burden and threat to society.

Some parents are rich enough, which they should be able to finance the education and livelihood of their wards but deliberately choose not to do so and uses their money to buy expensive funeral cloth for every funeral that they will or hear of, even if not invited they will attend. Also use their money on activities which will not benefit them neglecting their children.

Undeniably, These gives the children no option than ending up on the street by making a living on their own, trying to sell things for survival and some end up being killed by cars on the street. Some being criminals, some find themselves in modern day slavery which they are been sold for nuts, others survive or die of human right abuse of any kind; to my common sense I think society is breeding criminals.

Truly , every child has great ambition to becoming somebody in the future with great intentions of making their community , country and the world a better place for themselves and the unborn generations yet to come. Due to parental irresponsibility, most children build up pain and hatred which later graduate them into negative professions. The society and the nation are the victims that suffer from these negative certificate holders.

However, I suggest one child per parent based on condition policy will serve a great interest to our dear nation; if we want to accelerate development to catch up with the fast growing population for these developments to reflect in the pocket of the people. This will also help the country to achieve quickly all its Millennium Development Goals.

Undoubtedly, there are many laws in our country mandating parents to educate and caring for their children but it looks like our systems are not working in terms of enforcement, there are many institutions, Ngo's, Government agencies educating people to practices family planning to protect themselves against unwanted pregnancy but to others it looks like given birth and having many unwanted children is their only source of entertainment.

Therefore, one of the conditions I think should be attached to this policy is; before any parent or anybody at all should plan bring forth a child. This parent or person should FIX an amount in an account in the name of the unborn child before giving birth to the child.

This amount which should be decided by parliament, based on the geographical location of the parents or individual. If the parent can afford fixing more accounts in terms of the number of children they want to have.

These I think in case of any eventuality(death, lost of job etc..) the banks can take over financing that child education from the fixed account in the name of the child till the child is grown enough with good qualifications and fit to work on their own.

Conclusively, I know this will sound nonsensical to many people, but I say to each nonsense there is a little bit of sense; to those who has tasted parental irresponsibility knows the bitterness and painfulness in it, I Pray and hope my suggestion will be taken into consideration by parliament, government and the nation as a whole if possible, thank you.

GOD BLESS AND HELP GHANA.
