AdomTV is the ultimate station for local Ghanaian movies, drama, series, sports and talk shows suitable for the entire family. AdomTV subscribes to the overall mission of MultiTV to provide compelling content in entertainment and information and has quickly positioned itself as the go to TV Channel for the local market.

With a large portion of its content coming from the local movie industry known as Kumawood, AdomTV is not only happy to encourage excellence in the local production industry but is obligated to do all it can to expand and grow the industry. In furtherance of this effort AdomTV is happy to announce a long term partnership with Kumawood Multimedia (SamDackus Initiative) to organise, highlight and improve the Kumawood Akoben Movie Awards which has been expanded to the Kumawood Akoben Film Festival and Awards (KAFFA).

The indigenous movie industry in Ghana has been awarding its own through the great work and tireless efforts of Kumawood Multimedia (SamDackus Initiative) who have been organising the Kumawood Akoben Movie Awards for the last three years. In recognition of the great contribution of this Award initiative to encourage excellence in the local movie industry and of the role local movies have in the content and success of AdomTV – AdomTV and Kumwood Multimedia will be working together to build on the success of the KAM Awards, raising its profile, providing increased technical proficiency and growing the award ceremony to international standards.

The Kumawood Akoben Movie Awards [KAFFA] is an annual event to recognize and award the excellence and achievement of Actors and Actress, Writers, Directors, Producers, Technicians, and other personalities in the local film making industry of Ghana.

The Akoben, a wind of instrument made from the horn of an antelope was used in ancient times as a horn to call warriors to war. This instrument which represents strength has been chosen to represent the Award ceremony to symbolize the strength and resilience of the indigenous Ghanaian film industry.

The KAFF Awards will not only expand the scope of and technical competence of the Awards choice but will also add to the event by giving Master Class instruction to industry players in a number of sessions throughout each calendar year.

The KAFF Awards will eventually have a movie showing festival incorporated into is as the name suggests and the prizes that go with the awards will seek to further improve the awardee in their chosen field.

This year's KAFF Awards, like previous years will be in held in December, movie submission is currently underway until 2 nd November. Movies may be submitted to:

Kumawood Multimedia Office, Patasi, behind KSTS Kumasi or call 0247 – 517744. The movies may also be submitted to the LuvFM office in Ayigya, Kumasi and to the MultiTV Office in Kokomlemle, Accra.

KAFFA 2014 is organized by Kumawood Multimedia (SamDackus Initiative) and AdomTV (MultiTV) with support from major stakeholders of the film industry and will come off on Saturday 27 th December at Golden Tulip, Kumasi.
