The Faculty Members Of Trinity Theological Seminary And The Four Distinguish Personalities

The Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra as part of its 69th Graduation Ceremony has conferred doctoral honorary degrees (Honoris Causa) awards to four distinguishes personalities who have made contributions in the development of theological education.

The four personalities were the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, Presiding Bishop of Methodist Conference, Most Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante, the Secretary General of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, Rev. Dr. Seth Nyomi, and Professor Mercy Amba Oduyoye, Africa's first and foremost woman theologian.

The Seminary instituted academic awards for each of the personalities which included best student award for Systematic Theology, best student award for Church and Society, best student Ecumenical Relations and best female student award respectively.

In all, 224 students graduated in Master of Theology, Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Ministry, Bachelor of Theology, Diploma in Theology, and Certificate in Ministry.

The President of the Seminary, Rev Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante in an address mentioned that the authorities were dreaming of a new academic block with lecture halls, auditorium, faculty/staff offices and senate room, business centre which would host seminary bookshop, salon, barbering shop and many more.

He also mentioned other project as the new student's hostel which had 400 bed capacity and an eight-storey Trinity Conference Center facility.

Rev. Professor Martey commended both staff and students for making the seminary as it is today.
