25.11.2014 LISTEN

MUSIGHA President, Bice Osei Kufour says the union has no intentions of interfering in the arrest of Ghanaian music star Emmanuel Botchway, popularly known as Kwaw Kesse.

The President explained in an interview that MUSIGHA members are not above the laws of land.

Hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese now languishing in jail was arrested Saturday for using narcotics without lawful authority.

“He was arrested in Kumasi on the Saturday around Plus Two pub at Nyhiaso close to the police barrier”, Head of Drug Law Enforcement Unit, ASP Charles Appiah revealed to rawgist.com.

The Unit of the Ghana Police Service has declared war against all persons connected to illegal drug offences.

He was denied bail upon arrest, and was remanded in police custody until he appeared in court on Monday. However, the court, presided over by Judge William Boampong remanded him to reappear on December 8 after persecutors argued that they were still investigating the matter.

The musician had publicly admitted to being on drugs and seems to promote drugs using music.

ASP Charles Appiah said “the arrest has nothing to do with his songs… We are acting on what happened on Saturday “.

Meanwhile colleague musician, A-Plus earlier insisted the arrest was useless as police could not prove the allegations enough to render the suspect guilty.
