Joy Industries, a local producer of herbal products and alcoholic beverages, has issued a cheque of GH¢50,000 to support this year's National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC), which will take place on November 29, 2014 at Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The company also donated 50 cartons of Joy Dadi Bitters and two cartons of Joy Ointment.

NAFAC is a biennial national cultural event.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, who received the money and the items, commended Joy Industries for its kind gesture, urging other companies to emulate it.

She pledged the ministry's unflinching support for the company, assuring it that its products would be displayed at the NAFAC.

'We need to support you because you are also helping to create jobs for a lot of Ghanaians. We think you are doing a good job, that is why we are supporting you,' Mrs Ofosu-Adjare said.

The minister disclosed that she introduced Joy Dadi Bitters  at the World Travel Market, the largest global trade festival held in London, stating that 'those who took in some of the Bitters were craving for more.'

'Both Ghanaians and foreigners at the fair in London expressed interest in the products. Everybody loved the Joy Dadi Bitters , ' she unearthed.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare urged Joy Industries to put measures in place to ensure that its products hit the international market, stating that 'the demand is already there for your products. Both Ghanaians and foreigners love them.'

The Tourism Minister said her outfit was there to promote                made-in-Ghana products, calling on all local producers of goods to approach the ministry.

The Chief Executive Officer of Joy Industries, Dr Manfred Takyi, told DAILY GUIDE that the donation was to help ensure that this year's NAFAC is successful.

He said the company has often offered support to national events and communities as part of its corporate social responsibility, stating that it has also created a lot of jobs for the youth in the community where it operates.

Dr Takyi said the company's products are doing well on the market due to their quality and taste.

'Ghanaians love the Joy Dadi Bitters because of its health benefits. O ur products are well prepared.

'We don't rush to bring out products because we always want to bring out the best products onto the Ghanaian market,' he said.

Joy Industries was established about 10 years ago at Suhum and later moved to Koforidua and is currently operating at Akwadum—all in the Eastern Region.

The company has introduced five products onto the Ghanaian market, namely, Joy Medicated Soaps , ointments , Twedie Bitters, Twedie Mixture and Joy Dadi Bitters.
