Zoe Gyocsi has been adjudged the winner of the 2014 Philips AVENT baby of the year completion and she becomes the face of Philip AVENT for the next one year.

Over 200 babies entered the first Philips AVENT Baby of the Year Competition and the judging panel whittled it down to 30 babies. The public voted and the top three made it through to the finals. Zoe Gyocsi was announced winner by three panel judges, with Ariel KwasiKafuiNannor in second place and Alexander-Michael Jude KwabenaEwusi Arthur coming in third.

The finalists and the winner were all awarded great prizes including photo-shoot with a leading photographer and a hamper of Philips AVENT products as well as Philips items for mum and dad.

The Philips AVENT baby competition was part of activities marking the 30th anniversary celebration of Philips AVENT held at the Accra Mall for its cherished customers.

With the introduction of the first anti-colic feeding bottle that set the standard for feeding bottles worldwide since 1984, Philips AVENT has been there for each and every precious first, supporting moms and babies from pregnancy to playground.

Philips AVENT supports mothers always from nourishing little ones with the all-important breast milk to soothing a fussy baby.

Speaking at the event, Felix Darko, General Manager for Philips Lighting, West Africa said: “We at Philips AVENT are proud to celebrate this milestone with our cherished consumers here in Ghana. For thirty years, we have worked hand-in-hand with healthcare professionals, clinicians and moms to develop a long series of 'first' products, allowing us to share your most precious moments as parents. So it was only fitting to bring the celebration here where our products are very popular.”

He added: “The Philips AVENT Baby of the Year Competition is here to stay as it was a success and allowed us to actively engage with our consumers. We promise Ghanaians that the competition will be even more exciting next year.”

Dignitaries including the Honorable DelaSowah (Deputy Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection), MaweunaTrebarh (CEO of GIPC) AkofaEdjeani (actress), Eugenia Tachie-Menson (Vlisco Ambassador & Founder of Spelling Bee Ghana) graced the occasion with their children and took part in the festivities.
