US President Obama plans to stop the deportation of almost five million illegal immigrants in USA. For his solo-in Congress lacking the necessary majority, he receives sharp criticism from the Rebublicans. The President shows strength "Our immigration system is broken and everyone knows that," President Barack Obama said early in his televised speech on immigration policy. And so goes Obama lost despite congressional elections when it comes to immigration in the offensive.

He announced significant support for millions of illegal immigrants, he wants to retain in the USA by presidential decree, ignoring the Congress with a vito. He also called on Republicans to work with him. The Republican chairman of the House quickly responded: "How our democracy does not work," it said in a statement shortly after the White House announced the first details of Obama's plans.

Although President Obama has announced a ban on deportations, but the same time invited the Republicans to pass a new immigration law. Obama said parents (living illegal in USA) of children with US citizenship shall not be deported, however any criminal illegal immigrants not matter what must be Deported.

Obama wants to expand the immigrants decree already passed in summer 2012 which made provision to ban deportation of illegal immigrants who came as children and adolescents in the United States. Some 600,000 young foreigners are already benefitting from the 2012 program while enjoying temporary residence and work permit.

President Obama furthermore wants the protection of US border with Mexico to be improved, "a criminal will be deported. And for anyone caught trying to enter illegally into the United States be sent back," said Obama in his speech.

The Republicans in Congress are up in arms against Obama's plans. Even before his speech, several Republicans threatened the President with consequences. "If President Obama should ignore the American people and imposes his will, the Congress to will act accordingly," said the future Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Check the Republicans after their success in congressional elections in early November from January, next to the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Above all, the arch-conservative Tea Party wing of the party is resisting the plans of an immigration reform. In addition, the Republicans accuse the President, with the executive order, to exceeding its powers and violating the Constitution. But the countries of Central America on the other hand welcomed Obama's push, because from Obama's measures a significant number of Mexicans in the United States could benefit, said the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

According to some Central American presidents, the ability of stakeholders in the USA would be improved by the proposed reform, at the same time Obama would be awarded more dignity. The President of Guatemala, Otto Pérez, thanked Obama, saying the measures would have his support.
