The Chief Executive Officer of Accra based private radio station Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah has been invited by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for questioning.

Mr. Attah-Mensah's invitation is believed to be in connection with a publication by citifmonline.com about the arrest of a suspected cocaine courier who supposedly carried a diplomatic passport. He was invited by the state investigative body on Monday.

The publication suggested a Ghanaian woman had been arrested by security operatives at the Heathrow Airport in London for possessing cocaine weighing 12kg.

The 32-year-old lady whose name was given as Nayeli Ametefeh holds a Ghanaian passport and an Austrian citizenship. Her Ghanaian passport number is G0364497 while her Austrian passport number is P4187659. She was busted in London even though she went through immigration procedures at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.

Government has since denied that the lady possessed a Ghanaian diplomatic passport. They also denied she is called Ruby Adu Gyamfi as the news earlier suggested.

Citifmonline.com got confirmation of the arrest from the Home Office in the UK before going ahead with the publication. It is unclear how long Samuel Attah-Mensah who is also the Vice President of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) will be in the custody of the BNI. Meanwhile his lawyer, Nii Apatu Plange was not allowed to join him for the interrogation. He is still at the premises of the BNI hoping to be allowed in.
