Ade Coker has retained his position as the Greater Accra Region Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress in a keenly contested election held Saturday.
Coker polled 157 votes to beat his closest contender Daniel Amartey Mensah who polled 103 votes.
The results may come as a surprise to many election watchers who tipped Stephen Akwetey or Daniel Amartey Mensah to beat the incumbent but the delegates remained faithful to the Ade Coker.
Steven Akwetey polled 22 votes with Ekow Manley polling 32.
The Secretary position went to Victor Quarshie with Anthony Nukpenu picking the National Organiser position.
In the Central Region, Allotey Jacobs polled 127 votes to beat incumbent Samuel Eddie Yeboah who could only manage 79 votes.
The Regional Secretary position was taken by Samuel Ahianyo.
