Pastor Enoch Mortey, Pastor Divine Kwadwo Columbus,  Prophet Jonas Abedi, Helena Donkor and Christiana Quainoo in police custody

Three fake pastors have been nabbed by the Odorkor District Police Command for staging fake miracles at Power Explosion Chapel, a renowned church located at Tabora Alhaji in Accra.

The pastors are Jonas Abedi, 35, a self-acclaimed USA-based prophet; Divine Kwadwo Columbus 36, a Kumasi-based pastor and Enoch Mortey, a prophet based in South Africa.

They allegedly recruited two women and a man to fake ascripple and a womanizer respectively who were 'healed' during their staged miracle service last Tuesday at the church premises for a fee of GH¢50.00 each.

The women are Helena Donkor 40, the supposed cripple and Christiana Quainoo 36, sister to the cripple.

The supposed womanizer however, managed to escape arrest by the police.

All five are currently in police custody assisting in police investigations.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE , Superintendent Abraham Acquaye, Odorkor District Police Commander, said the incident occurred last Tuesday evening at Tabora Alhaji, where the church is situated.

Owner of the church, one Ewurama Annan, the complainant, said she met Pastor Jonas Abedi on facebook where he introduced himself as a pastor based in the United States of America.

The two constantly met on facebook until one day Pastor Abedi told Madam Annan that he was coming down to Ghana for a miracle service at Kumasi.

It was then agreed that Pastor Abedi fellowship with Madam Awurama's congregation before leaving finally for the USA.

On Saturday, November 9, 2014, Pastor Abedi arrived in Accra from Kumasi and met Madam Ewurama, who hosted him in a hotel near Taifa to enable him attend their Tuesday miracle service.

On Sunday, Abedi, together with Pastor Enoch Mortey, visited the church to fellowship with them.

It was then announced in the church by the elders that Pastor Abedi and his co-pastor would have a miracle service that the following Tuesday evening and so members with sick relatives could bring them along.

Pastor Jonas and his accomplices then contacted the two women to fake as a cripple and another, sister to the cripple, and attend the miracle service.

The Fake Healing Service
On that fateful Tuesday, while church service was going on, the two women, Helena, the fake cripple and Christiana, the supposed sister to the cripple, arrived at the church premises.

After some prayers, Pastor Abedi called Helena and told her that her disability was caused by a woman whose husband she was dating.

He and his cohorts then stretched their hands on the lady and after some prayers claimed they had healed her.

They performed the same 'miracle' on the fake womanizer and in the course of the prayers took out condoms and some powdered substance from his pocket.

While this was ongoing, Madam Ewurama claimed she became suspicious of their actions and told the elders to investigate the women.

After the church service, some of the church elders followed the women to their destination and saw them later chatting with the fake womanizer at a filling station at Abeka Lapaz.

After some minutes, a man arrived and handed them an envelope containing money and caused their arrest but the man managed to escape.

While in custody, the women confessed that they were contacted by another woman to faked as a cripple and attended the church service where Pastor Abedi was having the 'miracle' service.

The women continued that they were promised GH¢50 each by their supposed recruiter after the church service and so they only met at the filling station for their money.
