His Excellency, Lt. Gen. J. H. Smith, Ghana's Ambassador to the United States of America, last Thursday, October 30, 2014 joined other African Ambassadors in Washington DC to sign a book of condolence opened at the Zambian Embassy in Washington DC as the country mourns President Michael Sata, who passed away at the King Edward VII Hospital in the United Kingdom.

President Sata 77, a long time opposition leader, became Zambia's President in 2011 after winning the elections that year.

Ambassador Smith was accompanied to the Zambian Embassy by Mrs. Amma Twum Amoah, Head of Chancery and Mr Jojo Bruce-Quansah, Head of Information
