Edern Security has held a training session on counter terrorism for 200 of its guards.

The guards, largely drawn from institutions prone to terrorist attacks, took part in the three-day exercise held at the company's corporate offices in Achimota, Accra over the weekend.

The company said it was hopeful the training would boost its operations.

Guards from GGBL, GRIDCO and some offices of the United Nations, took part in the training exercise.

Agyenim-Boateng Oduro, Head of Administration at Edern Security, said his outfit thought it prudent to organize the training session to educate the guards on current best practices and also equip them with the know-how.

'These guards protect some vital installations we provide services for. In the wake of recent surge in attacks the world over, we saw the need to organize them so as to arm them with the needed skills and knowledge on the subject,' he said.

'With these sessions, we believe we are going to be important to how these guards man these installations. In this business, it is risky to compromise on the security of clients, which is why these sessions are important.'

The guards expressed satisfaction with the exercise, promising to put to good use the skills learnt.

Edern Security has won several awards and continues to be a leader in the provision of bespoke security services.

The training exercise was administered by officials of the Ghana Police Service.
