Osudoku Paramouncy Reconciles For Development

The Chiefs and people of Osudoku Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region have held a reconciliation durbar to put an end to the petty inter family litigations in the area.

Over the past years, families and Clans in the Osudoku Traditional Area have been battling with each other over insignificant issues which retard growth in the area.

The area is faced with numerous infrastructural challenges including health facilities, good roads and educational institutions, just to name a few.

These and more according to the elders, chiefs and people of the area informed the decision to organize the reconciliation durbar to smoke the peace pipe and to put behind them the problems and numerous litigations the area has witnessed to ensure the total growth of the once ever great Osudoku Traditional Area comes alive again.

The programme which is the first of its kind was heavily attended by local and international citizens of the area with a heavy representation of the Chiefs, sub chiefs, Asafoatsemei, queen mothers, wulomei (Chief priests) among others.

Addressing the function, Acting President of the Osudoku Traditional Council, Nene Manklalo Tetteh Otibo IV, said the Osudoku Traditional Area has come a long way and there is the need to put aside all grievances and ensure that divisions and hatred that had existed among the clans, families and the people are left behind to enable them put back Osudoku Traditional Area on the right path.

Nene Otibo IV who has been acting as the President of the Shai Osudoku Traditional Area since the demise of the late Paramount chief of the Area Nene Klagbordjor noted that the demise of the late chief is serving as the closure of an old page hence the need to smoke a piece pipe to make way for a new Osudoku State. “The whole area was full of litigation under the reign of Nene Klagborjor and we are ready to amend the past and move forward” he stressed.

The Acting Mantse and Head of the Osudoku Paramouncy, Nene Ngogmowuyaa Kwesi Animle III in his address described as unfortunate the divisions among the families that took center stage within the area, stressing that the Osudoku State is one state with a common interest. “Although we are from different Divisions, Clans, Families and homes we are all but one people” he said.

“Osudoku belongs to the people of Osudoku and none but us can make it better for the generations yet unborn”.

Nene Animle continued that every individual in the area has a role to play in the growth and development of the area and urged all to come on board and support the new administration to run the affairs of the area which he said will be a very transparent and litigation free.

“a solid foundation has already been laid by our great warrior of blessed memory, the Late King Animle I so all that has to be done is to lay the block to raise the Osudoku State to take back its glory”.

He continued that the event will also prepare the way for the burial ceremony of the late Paramount Chief of the Area, Nene Klagborjor who passed away in London some few months ago.

The Late Nene Klagbordjor has been the paramount Chief for the Area over four decades.

The Queenmother of the Shai Osudoku Traditional Area, Nana Amponsah Dokuaa III also called on the people of the area to put the past behind to join hands to develop the area.

Nana Amponsah Dokuaa who also doubles as the President of the Greater Accra Queen mothers Association noted that indigenes from the area shy away from identifying themselves with the area due to its underdeveloped nature.

She called on the youth of the area to ensure to play role in the development of the area and endeavor to learn from the elderly in the area.

In performing the reconciliatory rites, a bull, ram, goat, bottles of schnapps and assorted drinks were presented and used to perform the reconciliation rites.
