29.10.2014 LISTEN

His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama will give a keynote speech at this year's Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) Business Summit on Thursday 30th October 2014.

Nordic Ghana Investment Service (NorGhis) formed by three Ghanaians in Norway (Rich Ocloo, Francis Kwamena Acquah and Kobla Agbota) has cooperated with Eivind Fjeldstad CEO of NABA to promote the presence of Ghana at NABA Summits since 2012. The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II gave the keynote speech at 2012 Summit.

NorGhis facilitated this visit to NABA and it brought Abrantie Amakye Dede to Oslo to play in honour of the Otumfour later in the evening. In 2013, NorGhis coordinated the participation of Hon. Fiifi Fiavi Kwettey in that year's NABA summit. He was as one of the key speakers on a panel on Finance and Monetary Policy in Developing Countries. NorGhis has nursed the idea of the presence of a Ghanaian President at a NABA Summit since its formation in 2012.

We are therefore content that we have managed once again to put Ghana in the limelight with President Mahama's presence in NABA 2014. Hon. Fiifi Fiavi Kwettey, the Minister for Food and Agriculture will also participate in the Special Session on Agribusiness and Aquaculture. According to the Executive Secretary of NorGhis, Kobla Agbota, they formed NorGhis to promote investment opportunities in Ghana to Norwegian Investors and vice versa. NorGhis intends to facilitate a successful and pain-free entry into either the Ghanaian or Norwegian Economy.

We have an understanding of the economies and social structures of both countries. We can therefore provide qualified information regarding why businesses and investors should enter Ghana or Norway, and what they should know before entering these economies. We can assist businesses to choose areas of investments and trade as well. We alert investors of the challenges they might encounter and we advise on how to surmount them.

Finding a good representative can be very challenging and time consuming. For many companies who wish to enter Ghana or Norway, the first step is to find someone to represent them in that country and NorGhis can assist your company to identify the right representative for your business.

Finally, we can learn a number of things from the Nordic Countries in Ghana's quest for development. We link you with Norwegian or Ghanaian companies that have a comparative advantage in their areas of business. The Norwegian government and business sector alike has long experience in managing natural resources for the common good and this expertise informs our direction when we relate with our clients in the extractive industry. NorGhis' ambition is to facilitate a Nordic Africa Summit in Accra in the future. www.norghis.com.
