General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress Johnson Asiedu Nketia has exposed his deputy; Kofi Adams' role in the introduction of what has become known in the NDC as the “Ebola clause”.
Asiedu Nketia who was addressing about 150 party executives and activists at Kumasi on Monday revealed that his deputy, Kofi Adams was in charge of formulating the guidelines for the pending Executive elections of the party.
Many within the party had problems with a particular aspect of the guidelines which stated that one could not contest for a regional executive position without first becoming a constituency executive member. This clause now referred to as the “Ebola Clause” became a subject of various disagreements and even litigation.
Meanwhile the NDC Secretary also re-emphasized his preference for Yaw Boateng Gyan as the National Organiser of the party.
The meeting with the Ashanti regional NDC executives and party faithful was well patronized with General Mosquito touching on several important issues and receiving commendation from the rank and file of the party in the region.
