The crunch meeting between representatives of striking public sector workers and Labour and Employment Minister Haruna Iddrisu has stalled.

The meeting was an attempt at resolving the Tier Two Pension Scheme controversy which has culminated in a strike action by the workers.

The workers are kicking against government's decision to manage their tier two pension scheme.

The government has also proceeded to court demanding the return of the workers.

Employment Minister, Haruna Iddrisu met with the angry workers, Tuesday, afternoon in a desperate attempt to find a middle ground with them.

According to Joy News' Fred Smith, who monitored events at the meeting, nothing substantial has been achieved.

The workers said they could not negotiate with government when a legal suit hangs around their necks.

They would rather their lawyers look at the content of government's offer.

It is not clear exactly what government had on offer for the workers, however Fred Smith reported the Deputy Communication Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu as saying that the writ filed at the court should not be a stumbling block to the negotiations with the workers.

"The suit is simply to seek interpretation to certain matters which cannot be harmful to the position of other parties.

"Ultimately the most effective way of addressing any labour impasse is to engaging in continuous dialogue," he said adding they are willing to engage and negotiate with labour.
