The Lordina Foundation has donated food items to the Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region to support the upkeep of the students.

The items included 30 bags of rice, five boxes of oil and five bags of sugar.

The First Lady, Lordina Mahama decided to make the donation after she attended the school's Speech and Prize Giving Day last year.

The head of the school, Mahela Narh, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed her profound gratitude to Mrs. Mahama for the gesture, stressing that the donation would help the academic work of the students.

She also thanked the First Lady and commended her for the generosity shown towards them over the years.

The Lordina Foundation, which is the brain child of First Lady Lordina Mahama, seeks to support the needy and vulnerable in society.

She has over years made regular donations to orphanages and needy students as part of her commitment to meet their needs.

The Lordina Foundation supports seven orphanages and underprivileged institutions across Ghana.

They are Anfaani Children's Home, Tamale Children's Home all in Tamale; Frank May Orphanages Home and Let Kids Smile in Techiman, Bethesda Orphanage in Nkoranza, Osu Children's Home, Christ Faith Foster Home Children's Home in Accra.

She also provides scholarships to brilliant but needy students.
