A business forum is holding in Kumasi at the KNUST, Saturday, to expose students and other interested individuals to knowledge and skills in establishing and running successful enterprises.

The conference dubbed “Own Your Own Business Forum 2014” is to empower the youth, especially young graduates, to access useful resources to come out of joblessness.

It is organized by Bridge of Hope Limited. Avros Limited, retailers and wholesalers of consumer electronics and kitchen appliances, is sponsoring the event as a corporate social responsibility initiative to help the youth “better their lives”.

“If you cannot get a job, how do you get empowered to start your own business?” asked Managing Director, Avinash Lakhani. “Any trade or any profession that you want to get into, there will be some dignitaries that will be speaking at this forum. They will be giving information to the university students or anybody who wants to attend this forum on what to expect from the economic situation.”

Avros has absorbed the entry fee to make the forum free for participants.

The company recently opened a new outlet on the KNUST campus to serve the university community and environs.

Mr. Lakhani says the decision is based on demand for ease and convenience of shopping in and around the Tech area.

“We decided to make it a little easier for the communities in that area to do business. We are hoping that it will save a lot of time and we want to give the best possible service that we can, including free delivery to homes and hostels anywhere in the campus area,” he stated.

Avros Limited has four outlets in Kumasi.
