FOUNDER AND Leader of Independence People's Party (IPP), Kofi Akpaloo, has congratulated Nana Addo DankwaAkufo-Addo for convincingly winning the NPP presidential race.

He stated that he was highly impressed with the manner in which Nana Akufo-Addo won the elections in all the selected constituencies across the country where polls were held.

Mr Akpaloo, therefore, commended Nana Akufo-Addo and his campaign team members for a good job done, saying that Nana Akufo-Addo by his victory had proved that he is a force to reckon with.

Speaking in an interview with DAILY GUIDE , he urged Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to intensify their campaign in order to make a mark when Ghana goes to the polls in 2016.

The IPP leader expressed gross concern about the high number of ballots that got spoilt during the NPP's congress, saying, 'It should be an eye opener for the NPP ahead of the next elections.'

The IPP Founder said if the trend is continued, it would go a long way to hurt the NPP's chances in the next general elections, urging the party hierarchy to educate its members about how to vote.

According to him, the issue of high number of spoilt ballot became a hot issue during the 2012 elections, with some people accusing the Electoral Commission (EC) of being the cause of the damaged ballots.

He noted that the NPP ought to put its house in order by training its members about the proper way to vote in order to save the country from another court action after the 2016 polls.

Mr Akpaloo has been domiciling in the United Kingdom (UK) for the past one-year and because of that much has not been heard about him, regarding Ghana's political issues.

He stated emphatically that he would be contesting for the presidential position when Ghana goes to the polls in 2016, stressing that IPP is stronger and poised to cause an upset in the country's political arena.

Mr Akpaloo announced that the IPP would go to congress to elect its national executives in March 2015, adding that the party would elect its flagbearer for the elections in June 2015.
