Beware Of New Tricks To Defraud Telephone Subscribers

Beware Of New Tricks To Defraud Telephone Subscribers
22.10.2014 LISTEN

Are you aware that some people using company brand names such as Millicom Ghana and Tigo to dupe innocent people through the internet and text messaging on telephones?

These firms must take steps to weed out the criminals before they cause havoc to members of the public. It all begins with text messages sent to subscribers of tigo announcing that those telephone subscribers have won amounts ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 through lotteries they have not staked and therefore do not know about.

The fraudsters do not state in which African countries the lotto is organized neither do they say when the recipients of the message staked the lotto. They often do not ask for payments for the lotto win. They simply ask the subscribers to call a telephone numbers that do not emanate from Ghana but Nigeria for the so called winnings.

All I am doing is to alert Tigo and Milicom to know that their brand names are being misused. The earlier you do something about this the better. I have the text messages on my telephone number and I am ready to provide proof of what I have written. Stay tuned for more
