Mr. Tony Domingo, the Supply Chain Director, Nestle Central and West Africa has addressed farmers during a one day workshop organized by Northern Rural Growth Programme (NRGP) and supported by Nestle Ghana in Wale Wale, West Mamprusi district.

Speaking on the theme “grain quality management”, Mr. Domingo said the objective of the training is to educate farmers on the importance of adopting new method of farming to produce good quality crops products to enhance their yield as well as consumer satisfaction.

Small scale farmers continue to play a critical role in our economy as well as eradicating poverty where they needed further assistance to empower them to achieve it, he emphasized.

He said, Nestle will continue to support small scale farmers to produce quality crops to increase their yield to address food insecurity.

Mr. Roy Ayeriga, the National Director of NRGP giving his address said the level of malnutrition among children in rural communities is rapidly increasing and needed urgent attention to eradicate it.

The health of mothers and children continue to be in a critical condition where they struggle to find on three square meal a day due to poverty among, he added.

Mr. Ayeriga commended Nestle Ghana for their support of training small scale farmers to improve on their farming and also urged other private partners to help the government to eradicate poverty through agriculture.
