Action Prayer Network International, a prayer group within the Christian Action Faith Ministry has held a powerful prayer summit for Nigeria.

The non-denominational intercessory prayer summit was aimed at mobilizing Ghanaians and Nigerians on one big platform to intercede for the nation at it faces threat from Islamist group, Boko Haram.

It is estimated that 3,000 lives in Nigeria have been lost in the last five years including the abduction of about 230 female students at Chibok in Borno State in Northern Nigeria.

Organized under the theme: Engaging the hand of Lord to Overturn Satanic Destiny for Nigeria, the prayer and worship encounter also focused on the peace and stability of Nigeria ahead of its general elections in 2015.

Christians from all denominations in and around Accra participated in the prayer session held at the Du Bois Centre in Accra.

Renowned men of God from Ghana and Nigeria who lead the prayer summit were assigned various topics including overturning the satanic destiny for Nigeria, prayer against the activities of Boko Haram and for President Goodluck Jonathan.

They include: Apostle Jesse Daniels, Apostle James Ebhota both from Nigeria and Rev. Anthony Okyere from Ghana.

Host pastor, Prophet Bernard Danso underscored the need to seek divine intervention for our brothers and sisters as well as all the people of Nigeria.

According to him, natural or formidable defence is insignificant to tackle the alarming rate of insecurity in the populous country.

Prophet Danso said onus lies on Christians especially in Nigeria to rise up and pray for the redemption of the state.

He promised to fight the enemy to ensure the alarming incidents of kidnapping and threat to lives and property in Nigeria became a thing of the past.
