The float which ended with a food durbar at the garden opposite Kinbu, Accra saw a large crowd of people thronging the venue to have their share of the feast on world food day. Speaking at the durbar,Mr Richard Eshun a marketing manager of Sucatrade Ghana reiterated the need for Ghanaian businesses, consumers and government to work together to remove the inefficiencies in the Ghanaian food system in order for Ghanaians to be self-sufficient in food supply.

Chef Elijah Addo, founder of the foundation reiterated the need for food recovery and food banks to be encouraged in Ghana given the high number of people living without access to decent food. He furthered stated that if government can give tax incentives to businesses that donate their excess food stocks to food banks within the country, this will encourage businesses to donate more and this will reduce the amount of food that goes expiring in businesses. This food he said “when recovered could even be used to implement the school feeding program and this will greatly reduce government's burden of feeding less privileged citizens within the country”.

Sadia, Ricemaster's, Mr snacky, Belaqua, Blow group, Maggi,Nestle professionals, Sandra Ice cream supported Feast of Hope 2014 with food products.

Even though the UN World food day 2014 was to encourage family farming, Chefs for Change chose the theme: The Economic Impact of food wastage in Ghana.
