The leader of God's Way International Ministry, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has joined the Ambassador Pamela Bridgewater distance adoption program by adopting and sponsoring five head porters (kayayei) to be resettled in their hometowns in the north and be educated.

The beneficiaries are Nahima Musah 6, Lydia Aliu 5, and Regina Aliu 4, who would all be at Kpatarigu primary school in the Mamprusi Moagduri District. Fati Mohammed 15, will attend secondary school at Tamale and Adia Abdul Rahman 13, would be enrolled at the Gambaga primary in the East Mamprusi District.

The young Bishop speaking in an interview said “education is a gift that every child should have”. “I feel honoured to be part of this programme of giving back to society, especially girls” he added.

Bishop Obinim has gained an enviable reputation for adopting needy girls in society. He is currently sponsoring 20 needy girls to study at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Central University College. His humanitarian works focus on changing the lives of prostitutes by offering them accommodation and better sources of living.

The celebrated man-of-God who has agreed to promote the Pamela Bridgewater Project 'Kayayei go to School Campaign' on his television network, OB Tv, called on other well-meaning Ghanaians to adopt a girl from the street to nature the next generation of Ghanaians, who would be better citizens.

The Project Manager of the 'Kayayei Back to School Campaign', Mr Abdullah Musah Alhassan, thanked Bishop Obinim for his GH¢10,000 support of the campaign.

He described Bishop Obinim as a humble man and a social character, whose influence on Ghanaian society has been very monumental.

He said that that the Bridgewater Project is a humanitarian institution, which has great faith in the powers of God and that it is the almighty who supports the organisation in its endeavour to help vulnerable girls.
