Stratcomm Africa Celebrates Ghanaian Entrepreneurs With ‘Our Story Your Story’

Accra- 15th October - Strategic Communications Africa Ltd (Stratcomm Africa) has launched 'Our Story, Your Story', a ground-breaking showcasing of Ghanaian entrepreneurship, perseverance and excellence on 14th October, 2014 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The event was attended by many dignitaries including the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Kaoru Yoshimura, the Deputy Chief of Missions for the US Embassy, Madam Pat Aslup, the Chairperson of First Atlantic Bank and Board Member of Stratcomm Africa, Madam Karen Akiwumi-Tanor, President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. James Asare-Adjei, Mr. Rami Baitie, Head of Corporate Affairs for the UT Group and many other seasoned Ghanaian entrepreneurs.

Mr. Rami Baitie chaired the event on behalf of Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chairman of the UT Group.

Mr. Baitie, who was full of praise for the initiative, said: “Our story, your story” campaign offers a great platform to collectively share success stories to inspire a new generation of Ghanaian entrepreneurs on the world stage.'

Mabel Simpson of mSimps and Fred Deegbe of Heel the World Shoes both Ghanaian entrepreneurs shared their unique stories with passion.They highlighted some of the challenges they are surmounting as young entrepreneurs trying to make a bold statement.

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Esther Cobbah, CEO of Stratcomm Africa and CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year (2012) said: 'The African continent, generally, is receiving attention as the driver of global economic growth and our country, Ghana, continues to be seen as full of potential. It is Ghanaians who must be at the centre of realizing this potential.'

She continued: 'We will be telling inspiring and encouraging stories from a number of Ghanaian entrepreneurs including Prince K. Amoabeng, Chairman of the UT Group, Mr. Kwabena Adjei, Chairman of Kasapreko Company Ltd, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, CEO of L'aine Services, Mr. Fred Deegbe Jr., CEO of Heel the World Shoes, Madam Barbara Baeta, CEO of Flair Catering, Kofi Dadzie, CEO of Rancard Solutions, Nana Adwoa Awindor, CEO of Premier Productions, Mrs. Dzigbodi Dosoo, CEO of Allure Africa, Dr. Leticia Osafo Addo, CEO of Samba Foods, Mr. Albert Osei, CEO of Koko King and the list continues. Our Story, Your Story will feature success stories from our local markets across the country such as the popular Kantamanto market in Accra. These authentic Ghanaian success stories would be packaged as case studies for academic purposes.'

Our Story Your Story will be available for the public to read on the pages of many popular newspapers including the Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times, Business and Financial Times, The Enquirer, The Finder, Insight and others. Some of these captivating and motivating stories would be told through the broadcast media and the internet too.

Mr. James Asare-Adjei, the President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) delivered the keynote address and launched the initiative.

Mr. James Asare-Adjei said he identified with the initiative because it reflects his own story as a Ghanaian entrepreneur and chief executive of a group of companies. He announced that AGI supports the initiative and would want some of the stories of its members be told through Stratcomm Africa's 'Our Story, Your Story'.

These stories would be shared live on television and radio. They will also be available online and on the Stratcomm Africa's website.
