OCT 17, 2014 LISTEN

Tigo Ghana in partnership with LEC Foundation, has rolled-out a skills development training programme for students from various tertiary institutions in the country.

The programme dubbed 'Success Conference' is aimed at providing students with practical experience through knowledge sharing from various industry experts including the Chief Operations Officer at Tigo, Obafemi Bangibe.

The programme, which kicked off at the University Cape Coast (UCC) last week, will make a stop at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) this Saturday, 18th October, 2014.

The month-long initiative will also be hosted by the University of Development Studies, Tamale, and University of Ghana on 25th October and 1st November, 2014 respectively.

According to Tigo, the programme is one of its many contributions towards skills development for young people in Ghana. Tigo hopes the initiative will encourage the undergraduates to go into entrepreneurship after school.

Hundreds of students from 20 tertiary institutions across the country will participate in this year's conference. They include the University of Ghana, Pentecost University, Koforidua Polytechnic, Ho Polytechnic, Kumasi Polytechnic, Ghana Baptist University, Garden City University, Sunyani Polytechnic, University of Development Studies and Tamale Polytechnic.
