Akwapim Rural Bank Pledges Support To Communities

Management of Akwapim rural bank Ltd have pledged the bank's continuous support to communities within their operation areas as part of their corporate social responsibility and have however urged the public to cultivate the habit of saving with banks.

This was disclosed by the Board chairman of the bank, Nana Obeng Kumi // at the inauguration of an ultra-modern office at Nsawam in the eastern region. According to him, the bank over the past thirty-three years have done a lot to help communities in the field of health, education, agriculture and trading but stated their intention to do more as far as their corperate responsibility is concerned.

He said the bank was ranked second among one hundred and forty rural bank and community banks(RCBS) last year in the Efficiency Monitoring Unit(EMU) of the ARB Apex Bank. He was grateful to the immediate Board chairman, Mr. Edward Offei-Bekoe, Mr. Gilbert Leibel, current vice chairman and Mr. Emmanuel Nii Awuku, the immediate general for facilitating the project after operating from a rented-premises since 1999.

"As of January to September this year, the bank has accumulated Total Assets of 31,769,357.82 cedis whiles an unaudited profit before tax stood at 1,561,292.08 cedis" Nana Obeng Kumi stated.

General Manager of the bank, Mr. Stephen K. Bedu commended the Board, management and the entire staff for their hardwork and therefore urged them to put in more efforts in order to meet the mission and vision of the bank. He also appealed to the public and shareholders to do business with the bank due to their flexible terms and conditions.

Mr. Bedu advised the public to always save with recognised banks in order not to fall victims to money swindlers.
