Glo Mobile on Wednesday introduced a new tariff plan which will help its Ghanaian subscribers to call their business associates, friends and family in Nigeria for free.

The new 'Glo Kappah' product, which comes in two variants - Mini package and Super package, gives subscribers unmatched international minutes to make calls to Nigeria through special SIM card.

'Anyone can just walk into any Glo office and ask from the 'Kappah' SIM and once the SIM is registered and activated, that subscriber will enjoy free 900 or 300 minutes depending on the Super or Mini packages respectively,' Edmund Edusei, Divisional Head at Glo told BUSINESS GUIDE .

Mr Edusei explained that 'we have realized that Ghana and Nigeria are the biggest economies when it comes to ECOWAS.  From our point of view, Nigeria is the number one IDD calling destinations from Ghana. We also have a lot of Nigerians residing here that is why we decided to bring Glo 'Kappah' to our subscribers. The bundle, which is valid for a month, can be reactivated after the package is exhausted by dialing *750*3# for Mini value and *750*6# for Super value,' he stated.

'Kappah is a local slang used in Ghana, which means strength or capacity to do something.

Akeem Kazeem, Head of Business at Glo Mobile, said the product was developed to serve Ghanaians who have businesses, friends and families in Nigeria, as well as the large Nigerian community in Ghana.

'With this product, we are sure that Glo Mobile is going to contribute in no small measure in helping people build relationships and grow their businesses with less hassle at a lower cost,' he said.
