Ghana Home Loans customers to pay mortgage via Airtel Money

Airtel Ghana customers with mortgage facilities at Ghana Home Loans (GHL) can now pay their loans through Airtel Money.

This innovative service will bring more convenience and flexibility to how customers of GHL pay off their mortgage from anywhere in Ghana.

This is the first time a mortgage finance institution, the nature of GHL, is offering such payment option to their customers.

A statement from Airtel Ghana said “it also adds to the success story of Airtel Money which now makes it possible for GHL customers the convenient option of paying off their loans anywhere in Ghana, at any time without having to move to GHL's premises.”

The Director in charge of Airtel Money at Airtel Ghana, Luck Ochieng, stated that through this partnership, Airtel seeks to help make life easier for customers with a mortgage to settle.

“The highlight of this offer is the absolute ease with which one can transact,” he said.

He observed that Airtel Money has transformed the lives of millions of people across the country, having grown its active customer base by over 300% between the periods December 2013 to September 2014.

“We have consistently delivered on our core promise of Simplicity, Convenience and Security. No doubt Airtel Money offers the most comprehensive mobile commerce services in Ghana,” he said.

According to him, Airtel Money is based on a simple text messaging technology and is protected through a state-of-the-art security application on the SIM which guarantees the safety of customers' money and transactions.

The Head of Corporate Communication at Airtel, Donald Gwira, described the partnership as the first of its kind and one of the many channels Airtel is opening to its customer base to make life simpler for them and to add value to their everyday activities.

“Take for instance this new service we are offering to Ghana Home Loan customers. Being able to send money right from your phone means that we are making it easier for people to pay off their loans, and in effect, facilitating the process of them owning homes. This is just one of the ways we are making a change in the lives of customers and our community,” he added.
