A pressure group in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has given the party's national executives a one week ultimatum to settle out of court, a law suit filed by an aggrieved member of the party, Njonolah Linus.

Njonolah dragged the party to court accusing the current  national executives of overstaying their mandated tenure of office.

Presiding Judge of a Kumasi High Court, His Lordship Jacob Bunoo advised the NDC national leadership to amicably resolve the issue to save the party from disintegration. Following the court ruling, the pressure group, Concerned Group of NDC in the Northern Region is threatening to also sue the party's national executives if they fail to settle the case out of court within a week.

Spokesperson for the group Gariba A. Zakariah in a statement said the 'party's apathy towards the court case is a deliberate attempt to continue staying in office.'

According to Gariba A. Zakariah, some of the regional and national executives are 'afraid of losing their positions, hence the further delay in organizing the regional and national elections.'

He said no amount of persuasion will convince the group to rescind its decision of seek legal redress on what he described as 'undue delay in organizing the regional and national elections.'
