“The Odd Favours Akufo Addo”

Study the trend carefully and you could be able to tell where all the “political mortar fire” to destroy the presidential ambition of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is coming from.

Let me give you the benefit of the doubt. You do not know where they are coming from the way I do okay?

Double check the background of those making those statements and you will find out that those making those statements are just doing so because of their hate for the leading contender nothing more nothing less.

Can those guys tell us that the party constitution barred them from putting themselves out to be selected as presidential candidates?

Or can those guys be bold to tell us that they embarked on that “slush and burn” politics to issue unsubstantiated statements to destroy Akuffo Addo because he was preventing them to do so?

No so far as I am aware, each and every party member of good standing was capable of coming out to contest for the flag bearer ship contest and they decided to stay in the dark.

So still not getting the reasons for their fixed way of thinking, I still ask myself these questions, what is their beef? What is their problem? What is causing their blood pressure to raise everyday about Nana Akufo Addo's presidential ambition?

Someone should tell them in plain words that all the odd statements and pictures they continue to issue and make about the leading contender of the NPP super delegates conference Akufo Addo is soaring his popularity instead of destroying him.

Hate speeches, unsubstantiated allegations day in and day out are made about the gentleman in the media. Some news papers and online media consider these allegations as their front page headlines all with the intention to destroy the man for nothing.

As most of these allegations are rejected for not having any basis, the gentleman's popularity keeps soaring over the two presidential hopefuls Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng and Addai Nimo.

So what are those throwing “political mortar fire” from the camp of their presidential hopefuls apart from Akufo Addo gaining from what they are doing? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

The big story over the weekend was that the gentleman attended the Odwira festival in Akropong and was not introduced to the crowd and it took the wisdom of the president to do so.

Whether it was orchestrated to shame the gentleman or he decided to grace the occasion peacefully without turning it into party event, what are the pictures and stories coming out from the event about? AKUFO ADDO.

The Odwira festival unlike any other festivals celebrated by the chiefs and people in the traditional areas are not political party events but rather occasions for the people to take stock and plan for their better future.

That was why the president did not don his NDC party T-Shirt to the occasion and Akufo Addo also clad in nice kente clothe to join the people of the area.

Under no circumstance should the organizers of the event turn a blind eye on him but I know the gentleman will not turn the event into a political event to shame the president so it was not a big deal.

There is no doubt that when it comes to campaigning to win elections the 70 year old patriot is a master strategist. Right from the grassroots to the national level, he knows what to say that will sit well with the electorates.

Simply put he understands what Ghanaians wants and which policies and programmes to implement to satisfy their needs and wants and not just “promise, promise and promise” like president Mahama is doing.

Why is Akufo Addo quiet? Because his grassroots campaign is winning massive support for his bid to emerge victorious come October 18 and for the party as well so no big deal to exchange “political mortar fire”.

Really all the odds being perpetuated by both NPP and NDC activists against Akufo Addo to damage his political career rather rockets his popularity and if you do not believe me wait and see what happens on October 18.
