Former Constituency chair of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), David Hoezame, has been ordered by an Accra Fast Track High Court to use the grievance channels within the party to resolve issues for which he dragged the party to court.

Mr. Hoezame was  challenging the status of the party's national council .

In his suit, he said the  current national executives had breached the NPP constitution  by purporting to call for and take part in the deliberations of the National Council without reconstituting it after they were elected into office in April 2014.

The party had insisted Hoezame failed to adhere to the constitution of the NPP which states how grievances by members of the party should be dealt with.

According to the NPP led by its lead counsel Godfred Dame, the case brought before the court was frivolous and lacked merit.

On his part, counsel for Mr. Hoezame, Peter Davies said his client 'could not possibly have adhered to the provisions of the NPP's constitution because the party's national council which he is challenging hadn't being properly constituted.'

However, the court presided over by Justice Ofori Atta on Tuesday ordered Hoezame to use the party's structures to address his grievances.

The court said if he uses those channels and he is still not happy, he could then return to court to seek redress.

The court also awarded damages of GHC 1,000 against Mr. Hoezame.
