The Amasaman Police have begun investigations into circumstances that led to the death of a 12-year-old Primary 6 pupil of Ambassador International School at Kuntunse in Accra.

The body of the deceased, Emmanuel Ameku was discovered on the bank of a river on September 24, 2014 by the parents after he went missing on September 18, 2014.

The body has since been deposited at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital pending autopsy.

Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE , the Amansaman District Police Commander, Superintendent George Kumah said the father of the deceased, Yaw Ameku, a driver, reported the matter on September 19, 2014 after efforts to locate him proved futile.

According to the father, Emmanuel on that fateful day returned from school and after doing his homework, told a neigbour that he was going to collect a book from the friend at about 2pm.

It was raining on that fateful day and so after 8pm when the parents realized that the boy had not returned, the deceased's mother and some neigbours went looking for him until 11pm.

The father reported the matter to the police for investigations to begin.

On September 24, 2014, the police received information that the body of a boy had been found on the bank of a river at Kuntunse.

The body was retrieved, examined and deposited at the Korle-Bu morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
