Re: [GADANGME] GHANA TOURISM MINISTRY TO HOST "HOMOWO FEST" ???

First of all, who came up with this sacrilegious idea to have the GaDangme Homowo to be turned into an annual event to be hosted by the Ministry of Tourism? Does the Tourism Minister understands the true meanings and impliccations of the Homowo Festival for the GaDangme people. The Homowo Festival has spritual, emotional and religious implications for we, GaDangmes and should not be taken lightly or tampered with by the Government of Ghana or anyone else.

The Homowo Festival (See, Exodus 11:4-7, Exodus 12:1-50;Exodus 13:1-9 and Numbers 9:1-9) is a sacred covenant between the GaDangme ancestors and all people of Hebrew Israelite descent. Contrary to what some people think, there is more to the Homowo Festival than the beief that the Howowo Festial is meant to celebrate the famine our GaDangme ancestors experienced during their journey from Israel to their present abode.

Thus, in my view, it is ridiculous and sacrilegious for the Ghana's Ministry of Tourism to host the so-called HOMOWOFEST. What is truly behind this move by the tourism ministry? The Ministry of Tourism can encourage Blacks in the Diasporo and all people interested to visit Ghana and partake in the Homowo festivities celebrated in all areas of Greater Accra. But the Ministry of Tourism SHOULD NOT host the HOMOWO in the name of HOMOWOFEST.

It would appear to me that others in Ghana are gradually trying to ruin GaDangme heritage and culture. First, most of our lands have been stolen and/or usurped by others. Our languages, (The GaDangeme language) have systematically be degraded to the point of extinction. Now, a move to "degrade" sacred Homowol Festival too? It was only two to three years ago, when one so-called Osagyefo Kwame Mayor stated that the Homowo Festival is an Akan culture. His statement appeared on Ghanaweb.com That ignorant statement by that impostor was removed from Ghanawe.com following my criticism.

It is my understanding, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Adama Latse and other elders and traditional rulers in the GaDangme areas are opposed to this move by the Ministry of Tourism, I totally support the Ga Mantse, the elders and those traditional rulers.

I would welcome a meaningful public discussion on the above subject matter with the Minister of Tourism or anyone else.
