Philips AVENT Celebrates 30th Anniversary In Ghana With The Launch Of A Baby Of The Year Competition
23.09.2014 LISTEN

Philips AVENT celebrates thirty years of uncovering the tiny details which make the biggest difference to you and your baby Amsterdam, The Netherlands – 2014 marks a special year for Philips AVENT as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. Born in 1984 with the introduction of the first anti-colic feeding bottle that set the standard for feeding bottles worldwide, we have been there for each and every precious first, supporting moms and babies from pregnancy to playground.

Whether you are expecting your first baby or have recently become a new parent, we understand more than anyone how important it is for you to feel that you are doing what is best for your baby right from the start. With you and your baby's needs in mind, we believe that it is the tiny things which can make the biggest difference in parenthood.

That is why we pay such close attention to the tiniest details across our baby care and infant feeding products. From nourishing your little one with all important breast milk to soothing a fussy baby, Philips AVENT is here to support you always – then, now and for years to come.

As you may know, breast milk is, without doubt, best for your baby's start in life. It provides natural protection against infection and helps your baby's ongoing health and development. It is estimated that about 64% of mothers in Ghana practice exclusive breastfeeding for the recommended period of the first six months1 and during this year's World Breastfeeding Week campaign, the Ghana Health Service issued a call for an improved breastfeeding practice among mothers.

Philips AVENT is always on hand to offer expert advice for mothers and their babies and our range of breast pumps and breast care accessories are designed to help mothers in their breastfeeding journey, making it easier and as comfortable as possible to give their baby all the goodness of their breast milk.

For thirty years, we have worked hand-in-hand with healthcare professionals, clinicians and moms to develop a long series of 'first' products, allowing us to share in those most precious moments with you as a new parent. We have been by your side as you quietly monitored your baby's first breaths from afar thanks to our Philips AVENT Digital video monitor. Focused on the tiny details, we have helped your little one suckle naturally from the breast-shaped teat of our Natural bottle, while the angled spout and comfort training handles of our new Spout cups will help your growing toddler start their healthy journey to independent drinking.

“It feels like only yesterday that I joined the team at Philips AVENT and I could not have asked for a more passionate and knowledgeable group of people to work with. We are all so proud to celebrate our 30th anniversary and look forward to an exciting future, said Aliette van der Wal, Mother & Childcare Category Leader, Philips AVENT. “As a mom myself, it is so important to have peace of mind that everything is going to be okay and I
know Philips AVENT is committed to providing new parents with confidence and much needed reassurance when they may need it most.”

With a strong heritage of innovation, collaboration and trust, we are celebrating thirty years of Philips AVENT with this year's release of the Classic+ bottle – a reinvention of our iconic Classic bottle first introduced in 1984. Listening to moms' needs, we understand the importance of a relaxed feeding experience. As such, we designed the Classic+ bottle with a one-piece anti-colic system for increased ease of assembly and cleanability. And to celebrate our 30th anniversary, the new Philips AVENT Classic+ bottle will be available with a limited edition anniversary design.
We look forward to another thirty years of Philips AVENT firsts and hope you will
continue with us on our journey toward an exciting future.
