French media turn against Ayew brothers with harsh criticism over their performance

Ghanaian duo of Andre and Jordan Ayew have been subjected to harsh criticism by sections of the French media after the weekend's matches with the latter being described by a newspaper as 'the symbol of Lorient's impotence'.

The brothers are the latest Ghanaian players to suffer at the hands of the press with their clubs abroad as the analysis of Kevin-Prince Boateng's poor form and his disciplinary record in the German Bundesliga has been the subject of media commentary over the past few weeks.

Now the Ayew brothers have joined in the fray with the media in France not sparring their not-too-impressive showing for their various clubs in recent matches.

Jordan, who moved from Marseille to Loreint in a big move over the summer, has come under attack from the media in Lorient as he is not banging in the goals.

The last son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has scored just one goal since his move from Marseille and with Lorient 11th on the 20-team table but just one point from the relegation zone, Jordan has been blamed for the club's poor scoring form.

One newspaper summed up the club's performance by stating that Jordan is 'the symbol of Lorient's impotence'.

His elder brother Andre has also not been left out of the criticism with newspapers in Marseille claiming that his indifferent form has been caused by his quest to leave the club.

Andre was one of the top performers for Marseille last season but has not replicated his form so far this term which has raised eyebrows.

The commentary in the French media might have led to the feeling that Abedi Pele arrived in France over the weekend to watch Andre's match to boost his confidence following the loss of form.
