Recent regrettable events unfolding in some constituencies within the Greater Accra Region of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have given me very serious concerns. I recount the unfortunate incident in which some Constituency executives who lost their positions in the recent elections had to resort locking the constituency office among other things.

In as much as I fully appreciate the sadness and excitement associated with the outcome of an election, I wish to call on all past and new constituency executives in the region to remain calm and build a path of unity to ensure victory for the NDC in the 2016 general elections. Those who have been victorious should be magnanimous and stretch a reconciliatory hand towards those executives who lost. Similarly, executives who have lost their positions should continue to put their experience at the disposal of the party. The interest of the party should reign supreme at all times.

As party officials and activists, we should always be guided by the cardinal principles and core values of the NDC. Let us channel our energies and passion towards one basic agenda – to retain the NDC in power in December 2016. This is the only way the party can consolidate the gains we have made in achieving a better Ghana for our people through the good works of the government. Obviously, we have a collective responsibility, which can only be achieved through a united front and hence, I urge all party activists to exercise restraint and be focused by engaging in acts that unite us.

Long live the Greater Accra Regional NDC
Long live the National Democratic Congress
Long live Ghana
