The Way of Elohim: Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice 2

Dear reader,

Concerning King Saul, his response to Samuel regarding the King's treatment of the Lord's command suggests that of a nonchalant or reckless person on the one hand-1 Samuel 15:15and that of the ignorant on the other-1 Samuel 15:16. It is difficult to justify what King Saul did not understand in that obvious instruction.

This is almost how some if not many of us currently deal with the instructions of Yahweh. There is no doubt that millions of people wallow in plain ignorance; ignorance of who Yahweh is; ignorance of what the scripture teaches and ignorance of the deception in some if not many or even most pulpits. Yet many know the truth but seem determined to disobey the Lord.

Last week, we spoke about the way of Elohim on tithes, but some brethren thought that the death of Samuel has changed the ways of Elohim thus making it acceptable for tithes to be taken in currencies and to be stockpiled in banks and withdrawn at will and shared by few privileged opportunists. Samuel may be dead, but Elohim lives.

Another century 21 pretense is Tongues. The idea of tongues is from our Lord and there is no misunderstanding of His intention. Brother Paul captured the essence of tongues and dealt with it with divine professionalism-1 Corinthians 14:37.

When we gather as a body with Christ our head, no more than 3 persons must speak in another tongues. This 3 can only speak in turns; someone in the gathering must be able to understand and tell others the meaning of the spoken tongues-1 Corinthians 27:33.. In line with the Lord's description of tongues, the tongues speaker will necessarily perform the other signs in Mark 16:17.

If anyone is doubt of brethren's revolt on the Lord's commands on tongues, visit the gathering of some of the brethren and witness a massive repeat of King Saul's sin. As worrisome as it is, the current virus attacking parts of Africa should be a lesson for all believers and in particular, mass tongue preachers who teach brethren to speak tongues in mass but seem to determined to shun any form of contact with perceived affected persons.

We live in a 21stcentury where (to some) the end justifies the means, a seemingly same conclusion that might have contributed to King Saul's negligence of the Lord's clear command. “Let us make the money first; as long as we pay our tithes or give it out for good causes, the means by which the money or wealth was acquired matters not.” Each time I ask can I in any way be better than the Pharisee and scribes my Lord called serpents; these people removed from their treasury the 30 pieces of silver Judas Iscariot returned and even refused to use such money for their common good-Matthew 27:2-7. Why would I see it fit to accept such money? But this is century 21 where it is better to sacrifice than to obey!

Majority of us know what is right and good. But often we neglect to do it. Each time we recognize what is right and refuse to act in its favour, we sin against Yahweh. Speaking the truth is as important as accepting it. While few are willing to speak the truth, many are not willing to accept it.

Let us assume I practice my vocation or trade with crookedness or murder or fornication or adultery or deception or manipulation or lies or extortion, etc. Assuming I am a brother or the leader or even the owner of my church, and the brethren or some or many of them know that I am into any or some of the underlined, what will they do?

What we do is turn blind eye on 1 Corinthians 5:10-12 and James 4:4 and follow the way of King Saul instead of the way of Elohim. We put our membership or position as a reason to rebel against Yahweh. Factually, many have perished for lack of knowledge, but there are many who perish for their obstinacy. These are those that know but deliberately oppose the way of Elohim. We can still love our enemies and yet avoid our association with the world.

If you are one of those described above, there is a discomforting message here: there is no peace for the sinner-Isaiah 48:22; for you making the choice to follow after righteousness, be rest assured that it shall be well with you-Isaiah 3:10. Our Lord said, “Behold, I am with you even to the end of the age.”-Matthew 28:20.

Always keep in mind James 5:6and commit into the hands of our maker the lives of our neighbours who might be hurting at this time. Pray alsofor liberation to come to the crises prone countries and cities around the globe.

Shalom!
