Columbus K. Bruce, President of the Information Systems Audit and Control (ISACA) Accra-Chapter has presented a 14 Kg Brand New LG Washing Machine with a dryer to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to help cater for the needs of the unfortunate ones.

Making the presentation on behalf of the Accra Chapter of ISACA, Columbus Bruce said the donation formed part of the the company's corporate social responsibility and will assist the nurses to attend to the washing needs of the psychiatric patients.

Madam Anne Anyomi, Senior Staff Member of the Psychiatric children ward who received the item on behalf of the hospital lauded the effort of ISACA, pledging it will be put to good use in order to serve the purpose for which it has been intended.

She observed the hospital lacks detergents and disinfectants like (soaps, dettol antiseptics, washing powder) as well as antibiotics and physical drugs for treating malaria cases which sometimes they have to go an extra miles seeking for funds to meet the demands. She however appealed to other Philantrophic Corporate institutions or individuals to emulate the good gestures of ISACA to help assist them with those items.

Joyce Ankrah, Board member of ISACA says the company's desire to support the Accra Psychiatric Hospital was borne out of pity for the plight of the inmates while society looks down upon them and others have chosen to ignore them as if they do not exist in the society, calling on other institutions to come on board and offer their support to relieve the plight of the patients.

She said this is the third time ISACA is donating to support the hospital and announced the commitment of the company will be extended to cover the provision of playing equipment for the children, assisting them in painting of their wards, getting specialist support for the nurses and children and offering sponsorship support for outings of the inmates.

She equally called for the involvement of other organizations in the corporate world and philanthropic individuals to also donate generously in order to assist the children to live a life of freedom as demanded by rights.
