UniCredit Ghana Limited, a leading micro finance in the SME sector is investing GHȼ1.6 million in the development of IT infrastructure to improve upon its customer service.

The IT infrastructure development of the bank will usher in a bouquet of electronic banking services such as ATM service, Visa card, SMS alert and other electronic banking products as part of efforts to enhance its banking service.

Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Ghana, Samuel Sakyi-Hyde said the drive has received approval from shareholders and the board of directors of the bank.

Sakyi-Hyde was speaking to Adom Business News during the 2014 edition of the bank's customer service focus programme, Friday.

He said the bank has begun a training programme to keep staff abreast of the T24 IT platform the bank is currently migrating onto in the first week of December 2014.

He also announced the bank will from next year, expand its operations to Tema, New Town and Maamobi, all in Accra as well as Kasoa, Techiman and Tamale.

The Unicredit customer focus programme is organized annually by the bank to offer banking advisory services on how they can organize themselves and also protect themselves against fraud and other threats that can hamper their business and investments.
