The date for this year's Annual National Food and Agriculture Show (FAGRO), slated for Wednesday, November 5 to Friday, November 7, has been postponed due to an unexpected scheduling conflict.

The venue for the event has also been changed from the Prempeh Assembly Hall to the Kumasi Cultural Centre in the Ashanti Region.

The Exhibition Director of FAGRO, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, in a communiqué said the new date for the event is Wednesday, November 12 to Friday, November 14, 2014.

“The FAGRO Secretariat sincerely apologises for rescheduling this much anticipated event and for any inconveniences that this change might create. The circumstances that led to the changes were beyond our control,” she said.

FAGRO is an annual agric exhibitions event patronized by various industry players such as seed and seedlings, manufacturing, tractor and equipment, packaging, poultry and agricultural input companies.

On the theme, “Reducing Risk for a Sustainable Agricultural Growth and Development,” Ms Akosa said other activities for the event include field demonstrations, seminars, workshops and training programmes, which would focus on the latest technologies being employed to boost the agric sector in other countries.

“This year's FAGRO promises to enlighten agric stakeholders on new technologies which when applied, will improve the quality of agric products for local consumption and exports and also boost our economy,” she added.

She urged all stakeholders in the agric sector who haven't registered yet for this year's FAGRO to take advantage of the extended date to do so, adding that, the event would attract both local and foreign exhibitors, investors, financial institutions and over 2000 participants.
