Alan Kyerematen's Knavery Makes Me Sick

Alan Kyerematen's Knavery Makes Me Sick

Alan Kojo Kyerematen and his rambunctious popinjays will do themselves the most edifying thing if they spare us this politics of moribund nostalgia.

While some avid political observers believe strongly that the former Trade and industries minister is jarringly being used as a conduit by some squirts and fractious rabble-rousers who have gratuitously outlived their relevance in the New Patriotic party, others have likened the situation to the Akan aphorism that loosely translates into English to wit, "the animal attempts a final struggle when it is about dying''.Thus, Alan Kyeremateng has blotted his proverbial copy book and heading towards political oblivion.

Off course i was plunged into a pool of perplexity when i heard Nana Ohene Ntow's vacuous twaddle at the campaign launch of Alan Kyeremateng. Why would the former General secretary of the NPP assert that the Alan Kyeremateng campaign team was willing to welcome members of the ruling NDC, should they nurse interest to join forces with his candidate for victory come October? I couldn't contain my anger when he valiantly attempted to tar Akufu Addo with the same brush of having resigned from the party. I wonder if he really listened to himself.

What need s to be drummed loud and clear into the ears of Mr. Ohene Ntow is that his pay master, Alan Kyeremateng only came into the limelight when he was backed by powerful forces in the Kufour government who sought to cavalierly change the status quo of Akufu Addo being seen as the natural successor to the then President Kufour by virtue of his long years of service to the party, runner –up position in the 1998 congress and his unflagging service to humanity. Again Alan Kyeremateng disrespected the NPP and demonstrated self centered politics by resigning from the party after losing the election to Akufu Addo.

And for Dr Richard Anane's gibberish, the least said about it the better. Perhaps the former health minister is patently oblivious of the degree of deprivation and horrid quandary his inability to suppress his libido caused the kufour government and subsequently the electoral fortunes of the New Patriotic party when he engaged in sexual relations with Alexander Obrien, siring a child in the process during his tenure as health minister attending an AIDS conference in the US. I snorted with contempt and disdain when honorable Kennedy Agyepong in characteristic fashion, tempestuously accused Kojo Mpiani and Richard Anane of putting the kibosh on Akufu Addo's presidential ambition. It is rather regrettable and disheartening that the fatuous comments of the latter in no small measure give credence to that accusation.

More disturbing is the "agenda 2012" game plan that the Alan Kyeremateng camp is suspected to have up their sleeves and their axiomatic insouciant posture in disabusing the minds of the New Patriotic party faithful that there is no such agenda. It therefore stands to reason to observe that calling for an extension of time is only another ruse attempt to prolong the lingering rancor and tension that have bedeviled the New Patriotic Party. Just may be, that will be enough time to tear the party into shreds so that a disunited New Patriotic Party under the leadership of Akufo-Addo will suffer another electoral defeat come 2016.

Indeed, if Alan Kyerematen believes that the convoluted contest for the party's presidential nomination is not a self destruct gimmick of creating cracks and disuniting the NPP so as to cook the goose of Akufu Addo as i have mentioned in the preceding score, then it goes without saying that he must be frontally told that this kind of brazen politicking interlaced with kerfuffle and malice stinks to the high heavens.
