10 Killed In Kintampo Accident

A GORY accident that occurred yesterday on the Techiman-Kintampo highway in the Brong-Ahafo Region, claimed the lives of ten people.

Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE as at press time last night indicated that many other passengers involved in the accident were in very critical conditions and had been admitted at the Emergency Centre of the Kintampo Municipal Hospital.

Four of the deceased were females, while the remaining six were males, including a small boy.

According to reports, the accident happened at about 2:30 pm at Jema Nkwanta, near Jema in the Kintampo South District.

Eyewitnesses hinted DAILY GUIDE that a mini bus with registration number AS 5906-12, believed to be moving from Techiman to Tamale, had a head-on collision with an articulator truck with registration number GT 6849-13, which was coming   from the opposite direction.

At the time of filing this report, the bodies of the deceased, who were yet to be identified, had been deposited at the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for autopsy.

DAILY GUIDE learned that arrangements were being made to air-lift two of the seriously injured persons, identified to be military officers, to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical attention.
