Gifty Bingley, Head of Corporate Communications at Tigo, presents some items to teh hospital staff.

Tigo Ghana Limited has presented an assortment of medical supplies to the Keta Government Hospital in the Volta Region.

The presentation was in response to a request made by the Keta community during last year's celebration of the Hogbetsotso Festival in the area.

The items included Baby weighing scales, Digital Thermometers, Blood Pressure (BP) Monitoring Equipment and Bathroom Weighing Scales.

Receiving the items, the Director of Health Services at the Keta Municipal Assembly, Dr. Andrews Ayim, expressed his appreciation to Tigo for the timely delivery of the equipment, saying 'we are really hard-up in terms of cash and other equipment for effective health-care delivery in the Municipality.'

Dr. Ayim was particularly happy for the inclusion of BP monitoring apparatuses in the package.

According to him, 'Hypertension is on the rise in the area.'

He assured Tigo that the equipment would be put to good use and further hoped Tigo would keep coming to the aid of the hospital.

Gifty Bingley, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Tigo, who presented the items on behalf of Tigo, underlined the importance of offering support to institutions like hospitals, stating that 'it's always great to support people and institutions in need.'

She expressed her hope and belief that the relationship Tigo has forged with the Keta Hospital would be improved and last long.

Healthcare delivery in Ghana is increasingly becoming a burden on government and the support of corporate bodies like Tigo is always seen as a welcome relief.  It is little surprise that Tigo's support to the Keta Government Hospital was overwhelmingly appreciated.

Present at the brief but impressive ceremony were Dr. Asare Bediako, Medical Superintendent of the Keta Government Hospital and other members of management of the hospital and members of the Jelukope Assembly area in the Keta Municipality.
