14.09.2014 LISTEN

Aspiring Constituency Women Organizer of Ablekuma Central for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) HajiaBushiraIsma'ila has vow to revive and empower the women support base in the Ablekuma Central constituency and expressed her optimism of wining the Women Organizer position in up-coming election of executives of the constituencies, regional and National officials of the NDC.

Expressing her optimism in an exclusive interview with the Ghana Palaver in Accra, she said her decision to contest the Women Organizer position was due to poor organization of women in the constituency.

According to her the women in the constituency need oriented leadership who can transform their living standard as well as meeting their basic needs.

She added that when given the nod she would ensure that women in the constituency are empowered with loans and other opportunities.

She said she would ensure that the demand of women in the constituency are properly documented and also establish fund to enable the women embark on profitable economic ventures when given the nod.

HajiaBashiratu explained that the fund would help end depression that has currently swathed the women support base in the constituency.

She revealed that the fund would also bring about the situation where needs of the women in the constituency especially health and education, would be addressed through the fund.

According to her she is ready to serve the women in the constituency and the party at large by putting herself up for the election and work for the interest of the party, adding that her focus would be on how to bring the majority of the women in the constituency to rally behind the NDC and ensure that the party retain the parliamentary seat in 2016.

She appealed to women especially in the Zongo communities to take proper care of their children education rather than spending their monies on things that are not necessary adding that better education would enable their children to become leaders in the near future.
