The Online Managing Editor of your definitive news and information platform ModernGhana, William Nana Yaw Beeko, has been robbed at gun point at the Dzorwulu bush road in Accra.

The incident happened around 8:30p.m., Wednesday night 10th September, 2014 when he picked a taxi cab from Atomic Junction in Accra on his way home.

The robbers, who were led by the taxi driver were three in number and made away with his brand new Samsung Galaxy Tablet 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 android cell phones.

The usually soft spoken, calm and gentle journalist further had his soul and spirit dampened as a result of the action.

With his God-given talent of common sense, Mr. William Beeko did not struggle with the robbers and was quick to pose as a student which saved his life.

What makes matters worse is that he seldom took note of the car number but insisted that it was a Hyundai Accent taxi sprayed with Black and orange colours.

Realising students were not workers to always carry money on them, the robbers took the phones from him and drove off at a high speed.

Narrating this hellish ordeal, he said the taxi driver used the heavy traffic on the Dzorwulu Junction of the N1 Highway as an excuse to divert the route by using the bush road which usually meets the Achimota Abofu junction.

“The taxi driver used the Dzorwulu Bush road and approaching a darker point stopped as if he was checking a fault or something. Two other guys joined him from nowhere and asked me to stay calm.

The taxi driver pulled a pistol from his driving seat and requested that I bring out all valuable items on me,'' he said.

He said it was at this point that he gave out the cell phones.

"I must confess, honestly I lost my balls at that hour with a pistol pointed at me as I removed the phones out of the bag. I just thank God for my life and grateful my prayers over the years to have life have been held intact.

''I would like to take this chance to urge the police on the N1 Highway to beef up patrols around the bush roads especially because parking police cars at Dzorwulu junction to track down road traffic offenders does not necessarily render the entire area safe at all,'' the ModernGhana Editor remonstrated.
