Guwahati, India, September 3: Kamrup District Administration on Tuesday formally handed over two plots of land to the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam measuring 15 bighas and 30 bighas for setting up the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Photo & Film Archive & Research Centre and the Lakshminath Bezbaruah Government Institute of Mass Communication & Printing Technology & Research respectively.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in his budget speech on August 11, 2014 had declared that the land has been allotted for the two projects.
The land is covered by Dag No. 70 (part) of village Kali Pahar of Sila Sundari Ghopa Mauza under North Guwahati Revenue Circle, Kamrup, Amingaon.
Circle Officer of North Guwahati Revenue Circle Jatin Bora handed over possession of the land to Joint Director, Information & Public Relations, D.N. Loying.
