Eastern Region Not Ready For An Akufo-Addo Presidency—NDC Organiser

The Eastern Regional Organiser and an aspiring Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Tawiah Boateng has stated that the Eastern Region of Ghana is not ready for an Akufo Addo presidency since that will cast doom for the region and retrogress the development of the region.

Mr. Tawiah Boateng who was speaking to the press at Akyem Achiase during an NDC constituency congress of the Achiase constituency said the poor road network of the region and the under development of the region can only be blamed on Akufo-Addo and some people within the NPP that think like him.

He said for 8-years in Kufuor's administration, the Eastern Region had prominent personalities like Nana Akufo-Addo, Hon. Yaw Osafo Marfo Hon. Owusu Agyapong just to name a few as high profile personalities within the government yet the Eastern Region did not see a single developmental project.

"As I speak, Kyebi has no single project to boast off as a beneficiary project of the Akufo-Addo 12-yr rule as MP not to talk about his 8-yrs reign as a senior member of the Kufuor administration," he added.

Mr. Tawiah Boateng who is also known as T.B said, these and many others are the reasons why the Eastern Region will not entrust the destiny of the region into the hands of Akufo-Addo.

He, however, congratulated Nana Akufo-Addo for winning last Sunday's Special Delegates Congress of the New Patriotic Party and wished him well as he prepares to go into the October 18 main congress.

The Akyem Achiase constituency congress of the NDC saw Mr. Samuel Owusu Best, Mr. Jafaru Salifu, Mr. Francis W. Y. Adu, Mad. Felicia Addae, Mr. Dennis Darkwa and Mr. Seidu Alhassan emerging as constituency Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser and Propaganda Secretary respectively.

Others were also voted into deputy positions as well as women and youth organiser positions.
